Ahead of the Game - for Sports Coaches, Managers, Youth Workers/Volunteers

To help young people, parents, sports coaches, youth workers, players and managers strengthen their mental fitness. Talk More, Play Better. Kirriemuir Youth Project are proudly partnering Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH) and Movember in bringing Ahead of the Game to young people in Kirriemuir, (in conjunction with Kirriemuir Sports Hub) to help young people, parents, youth workers, staff, sports coaches, players and managers strengthen their mental fitness. Through this partnership, Ahead of the Game gives everyone the skills and confidence to talk about mental health. The programme helps participants recognise when someone may be struggling, understand what to do, and know when to seek help. Each session focuses on building resilience and overcoming challenges. In addition, interactive workshops and practical resources support every young person, volunteers and staff, every team and their network of parents and coaches. When faced with challenges in life and in sport, young people will know who they can talk to right away, and that their community has their back.
