A evening combining Breathwork & Sound Therapy An event by 'Marlborough Wellbeing' - Heartfelt events. This is an invitation to join us for something a little different, a combination of Breathwork and Sound Therapy. This month Richard Dunn, qualified with the Alchemy of Breath, brings Breathwork to our Sound Bath, led by Alison (British Academy of Sound Therapy). Breathwork Conscious connected breathwork is a simple but powerful way of breathing that can create an experience many people don’t realise is possible. It’s continuous breathing — no pauses at the top or bottom of the breath. Usually through the mouth, breathing deeply in and then letting it flow straight back out. Not forcing. Not straining. Just maintaining a steady, connected rhythm. When guided by a trained facilitator, often with music, instruments, or sounds of nature, this rhythm can become a bridge between body, mind, and emotion. Sometimes the experience is gentle. Sometimes it’s powerful. Sound Therapy & Sound Baths While guided through the breatwork, you'll be held in a sound bath, created with various instruments from shamanic drum, tongue drum, crystal singing bowls, himalayan singing bowls, gongs, vocals, chimes and lots of beautiful percussion. Using a particular method of playing, Sound Therapy can influence brainwaves and enable us to enter altered states of consciousness (ASC). This can bring benefits such as an improvement in our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing , reduced depression and anxiety and better sleep. Sound Therapy can allow us to release physical, emotional and mental tension, and help us to move back into balance. WHERE St Mary's Church Hall, Marlborough. ABOUT Alison Just BE Sound and Movement Therapy is run by Alison Heaslewood who qualified in Sound and Movement Therapy with the British Academy of Sound Therapy. She is also the founder of Ecstatic Dance Berkshire. Following a five year episode of chronic pain in her twenties and a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, she turned to alternative methods of healing, including Sound Therapy. Along with sound, movement was instrumental in her full recovery. She has been supported on her spiritual path by cacao, meditation and connecting to nature, and has been continually called to explore deep practices of surrender and awareness. With five years vocal training she has discovered the power of the voice to heal and brings soothing vocals into her sound sessions along with other percussion. She creates nurturing, relaxing and safely held spaces for anyone seeking a space to Just BE.
