Family Class: Giftable Mini-Cakes

Bake with a kid (or kid at heart) and make sweetly sized vanilla mini-cakes in ready-to-gift tins! Each ticket includes admission for one grown up + one kid* (see details below). Each pair will share a baking table and work together to make the recipes. You'll make adorable little ready-to-gift mini-cakes, baked and iced in miniature square tins! In this class, you'll: • learn two mixing methods: creaming and reverse creaming • make divinely tender vanilla mini-cakes AND luscious vanilla buttercream icing from scratch • learn how the ingredients work together to create this buttery classic • assemble the cakes, building confidence in using a piping bag and/or offset spatula... and sprankles (optional, but fun!) • learn lots of baking tips you can apply to other recipes • Take home a handful of mini-cakes that you made yourself... ready to gift! * Is your "kid" a grown up? That's totally fine! This class is a great fit for kids who enjoy taking on baking projects and can easily stay engaged & follow detailed instructions for the duration of a 3 hr class. Must be 8+ yrs to participate. Children under age 15 must be attending with an adult. No prior baking experience needed. This recipe is uses a stand mixer (new to mixers? check out our tutorial!). By registering, you agree to our terms & conditions. +++++ ABOUT HANDS-ON BAKING CLASSES at the HOMEMADE KITCHEN These hands-on baking classes are in-depth AND fun! Class sizes are small, so students have ample opportunity for guidance & questions. Some classes involve a bit of "group work" with other students, but you complete most of the activites yourself... and of course, you'll leave with your goodies! Who should participate? Anyone age 15+ who is looking to learn, wants to have fun, or just enjoys baking in company. Who teaches the classes? Unless a guest instructor is specified, Kat Gordon (founder of Muddy's) is the primary instructor for all classes. Many classes also have a class assistant. What about cancellations? Classes are small and space is limited, so all ticket sales are final. If you cannot make it to your class, you may gift your ticket to a friend. If Homemade must cancel the event for any reason, we will inform you asap and offer you a refund or a class swap. Where are the classes held? Is "Homemade" part of Muddy's? The Muddy's founder, Kat Gordon, "spun off" the class business after the sale of the bakery :) Homemade is not a part of Muddy's, but IS located inside the event space and is proud to be next door!
