From Scratch: A Full Menu Featuring DIY Ricotta

Learn how to make ricotta, then proudly showcase it in an Italian-inspired dinner menu. Hands-on. You’ll work in small teams during class. Age Restrictions For ages 13 & up Description So simple, yet so good. Rich, yet light in texture, homemade ricotta is a prime example of how three ingredients (milk, an acid, and salt) can come together to make a huge difference in a finished dish. In class, we’ll experiment with different acidifying agents to create ricotta in easy, cost-effective ways that you can easily replicate at home. Once we’ve made our homemade ricotta, we’ll use the finished product in an Italian-inspired menu of appetizers, entrée, and dessert that showcases the versatility of the beloved cheese, including the whey (a natural by-product of cheesemaking). At the end of class, you’ll get to sit down and enjoy the impressive ricotta-filled meal you’ve created. You will be working in a small group. For ages 13 and up. Attendees not yet 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Each attendee must purchase a ticket. 21 or older? You’ll enjoy a glass of wine paired with your meal.
