Join Wyong GROW for a relaxed, face-to-face chat and support session focused on mental wellbeing. Looking for support with your mental health and wellbeing? GROW provides a welcoming, caring and confidential space where people aged 18+ can come together to support each other with their mental health and personal recovery. The Grow Program is based on lived experience. Our groups bring together people who understand that life can be difficult and who are working towards developing and maintaining good mental health. GROW uses a structured 12-step program of personal growth, mutual help and support. Rather than being a clinical or counselling service, GROW is a peer-to-peer program where members share their experiences, learn from one another and explore practical ways of dealing with life's challenges. What happens at a GROW meeting? GROW groups meet each week for around two hours and follow a structured meeting format. Members have the opportunity to talk about challenges they may be facing and receive support, encouragement and practical ideas from the group. The experiences and knowledge shared by other members are an important part of the program. There is no pressure to speak. If you are attending for the first time and would prefer just to listen and see how the group works, that is completely okay. Newer members are supported by people who have experience with the Grow Program, and everyone participates as peers. GROW can provide: • Peer support from people with lived experience • A regular weekly routine and supportive community • Practical strategies for dealing with life's challenges • Opportunities for personal growth and recovery • Social connection and friendship • A safe, caring and confidential place to talk • Ongoing support for maintaining good mental health Everyone is welcome You do not need a doctor's diagnosis or a referral to attend a GROW group. Meetings are free and confidential, and you may choose to remain anonymous. There is no obligation to continue attending if you decide that GROW isn't right for you. You are also welcome to bring a friend, family member or other support person (aged 18+) with you to your first three meetings.
