Effective Strategies for Co-Planning

Learn to partner with teachers in the classroom with co-planning that works. Co-planning is an important part of building meaningful coaching partnerships and supporting instruction that meets the needs of every student. But how can we ensure that our co-planning conversations move beyond simply preparing lessons to strengthening teacher thinking, instructional decision-making, and student learning? Join this session to explore specific moves that support a collaborative co-planning partnership, one in which the teacher and coach (or specialist, department head, team leader, or administrator) bring their knowledge and strengths together to intentionally plan for instruction and build teacher capacity. In this session, you will learn: • How to establish a collaborative co-planning partnership grounded in teacher voice, choice, and shared responsibility. • Strategies for using student learning goals and evidence to guide instructional planning. • Ways to support teacher thinking and decision-making while gradually building teacher ownership of the planning process. Who should attend: This session is designed for instructional coaches, instructional leaders, district coaches, mentor teachers, department heads, and anyone else who partners with teachers in planning sessions with the goal of elevating student learning. ***** ***** ***** ***** ESC and CIESC Member Discounts Is your school district a member of CIESC or another ESC in Indiana? Pay via Invoice If you need to pay for your registration via invoice, you may do so by selecting your ticket and then choosing the invoice option at check out. Invoices will be sent to the Accounts Payable contact on file for your organization upon completion of the event. If you are submitting a purchase order or need to update your organization's billing contact, please contact Maddy Storz ([email protected]). Cancellation Policy Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the event. You must cancel your registration and request a refund via Eventbrite. If you selected pay by invoice, an invoice will not be issued. If you selected pay by credit card, a refund for the ticket price minus Eventbrite fees will be issued back to the original form of payment. The refund may take up to 7-10 business days to process. Any cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows on the day of the event or after will NOT receive a refund. Registrations may be transferred to another staff member in your school/district. If you registered for a free, in-person event and can no longer attend, you must cancel your registration via Eventbrite at least 7 days prior to the event. No-shows will be charged a $25 no-show fee. In-Person Events Please note this event will be held in person and will not be recorded. In the case of unforeseen circumstances (such as inclement weather or situations beyond our control), alternative arrangements will be considered.
